History and Philosophy

The temporary help industry developed during the second world war, when workers were shifted from company to company because of war-related labor shortages. Today, temporary help is an industry used by 90% of American businesses. Many temporary workers hold advanced professional degrees or have unique training, including doctors, nurses, attorneys, paralegals, architects, chefs, hospital administrators, business executives, and others in positions of great responsibility.

Of course, home healthcare is as old as illness, with relatives and friends caring for the ill and the dying at home throughout history. In modern times, as medical costs have risen, providing professional care at home is an economical, comforting and efficient method of treatment for the chronically ill or for patients recovering from surgery and acute conditions.

Napoleon Okafor, founder of Willingham Health ServicesTM, has 26 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Because of the longevity of his own family members, Mr. Okafor has long held a special regard for the elderly. His grandmother lived until 101 years, and his great grandfather lived until 103. Thus, when he had obtained his advanced degree, he became a nursing home administrator. During the 7 years he spent in that position, he learned first-hand the benefits of using temporary staff to supplement his own staff during vacancies, illness, vacations, pregnancies and health leaves.

Mr. Okafor started his own supplemental medical staffing agency - Wellington Health Services - in 2000. Since then, he has seen his business grow substantially and has appreciated how his services have benefited his clients.

He has learned successful methods for recruiting professional staff and developing relationships with clients. Franchising is an excellent method for teaching others how to provide these same vital services in their own communities. He also went down the franchising road because it is a business model by which Willingham Health ServicesTM success is totally dependent on the success of each of it's independent franchise owners. Thus Mr. Okafor and Willingham Health ServicesTM began developing a franchise system in December, 2006.

In 2007, the home healthcare component of the services Mr. Okafor and his team offer has grown. Now home healthcare is a part of the services franchisees can offer to their own clients.
